Wine-lovers’ resolve to have a dry January may be tested by an offer at Opus in Cornwall Street in the city centre.

The restaurant is holding its annual wine sale, with 50% off selected bottles.
The 18 bottles including red, white, rose and dessert, including a powerful but elegant Valpolicella Ripaso that is usually £35 but is £17.50 and a soft Auxey-Duresses Blanc that usually costs £75 but is now £37.50.

But Bar Opus in Snow Hill is offering help to those determined to cut down on the booze in the post-Christmas period.
The bar has created a range of alcohol-free detox cocktails with six flavours including beetroot, pear, banana, carrot and ginger, apple, and kale and cucumber.
Cocktails are £3 each or £15 per case of six.
