The Edgbaston’s Toby lands an international prize

The Edgbaston Boutique Hotel & Cocktail Lounge bartender Toby Heap has won a prestigious international competition.

Toby competed in the Ysabel Regina Fusion Competition in Jerez, Spain.
He was among 12 finalists
Whilst representing the Ysabel Regina Bodega brand, the competition focused on the fusion of drinks and music.

Bartenders were requested to design a drink under the categories of jazz pop, jazz rock and jazz blues
Toby won the jazz pop category creating a long drink, called Love in Vain inspired by Layla, Unplugged by Eric Clapton. 

His recipe

45 ml Ysabel Regina
30 ml Sauternes Wine
10 ml of Homemade Apricot Shrub 
Rinsed with an infusion of Pedro Ximenez with oak and finished with 1724 Tonic Water.

New Orleans

Toby has won a trip to New Orleans in July to attend Tales of The Cocktail, an industry cocktail festival designed to indulge those who enjoy the culture and history of liqueur and spirits.
