Adam’s new look

The chefs table

Work is under way on the stylish new premises to be taken over by Birmingham’s Michelin-starred Adam’s Restaurant, with its opening planned for early in the new year.

The restaurant – which has operated as a ‘pop-up’ for two-and-a-half years in Bennett’s Hill in the city centre – is moving just round the corner to New Oxford House, 16 Waterloo Street, overlooking Victoria Square.

During their time in Birmingham, chef-patron Adam Stokes and his team have won a string of accolades.

Honours have included a Michelin star, three AA Rosettes and a placing in the list of the UK’s top 30 restaurants.

The aim is to open the new restaurant in the third week of January.
It will be a 35-seater – similar in size of Adam’s current location – but will also boast a16-seater private dining room.

A chef’s table will be added in the kitchen soon after opening to accommodate individual diners and parties.

Adam said: “There will be a change to the menu formats, too.
We will offer a great value lunch menu and a tasting menu, with the addition of an a la carte option.

“There will also be a bespoke tasting menu for the chefs table.”
Teams of craftsmen are busy in the new building creating a restaurant that will have cool contemporary decor, with flashes of excitement across the room.

The kitchen will be state-of-the-art , every inch fully bespoke, with granite and black stainless steel. It will also house a development kitchen and wine room.

Adam said: “The whole restaurant will be a facility that we will be extremely proud of and hope Birmingham will be proud of it too.

“The ethos remains to excite guests with accurate cooking of quality ingredients served in an approachable environment, to create a unique experience for each diner within our friendly and professional restaurant.

“We aim to continue to cook good honest food in an imaginative way to stimulate and satisfy our guests, also to continue to gain accolades that we have already started to at Bennett’s Hill.

“Thank you for everyone’s support over the past couple of years and we hope to welcome all to come and relax and enjoy a business lunch, a meal with friends or a romantic dinner with a loved one.”

The restaurant will continue to operate in Bennett’s Hill until work on the new premises is complete
