Birmingham Beer Week 2019 has almost arrived.
The annual series of events unites the city’s best breweries, pubs, bars, bottle shops and restaurants from July 19-28.
Over 60 events will be held at more than 50 venues around Birmingham, showcasing the best of what this city’s beer scene has to offer.
There’ll be music, food and – obviously – beer.
The city has 16 independently operated breweries within its boundaries, complemented by breweries in the wider Midlands.
The festival’s collaboration beer is called Zwillinge and has been created by seven Birmingham breweries – Attic Brewing, Birmingham Brewing Co, Davenports, Halton Turner Brewing, Lab Culture Brewing, Ostlers Brewery and Two Towers Brewing.
It’s a raspberry and basil fruited gosé – a Leipzig-style beer.
It’s tart, sour and with a defined saltiness that the style demands, but with an added a twist that will make it approachable to both casual and seasoned drinkers alike.
Charity partner of Birmingham Beer Week 2019 is CLIC Sargent, who support children and young people affected by cancer.
