Here are some of the new spring dishes at The Botanist

Birmingham bar and restaurant The Botanist has unveiled a new spring menu.

Executive chef James Scott has created a new collection of vegan, dairy-free, vegetarian and non-gluten dishes as well as mainstream offerings.

Diners at the bar and restaurant in Temple Street in the city centre can try a new selection of nibbles, starters and venue’s deli board.

The Botanist has introduced a jalapeño and cheddar bloomer bread to accompany its popular deli board.

Classic dishes have also been given a modern twist, with charcoal flatbreads a new lunchtime speciality.

Other dishes include charred edamame beans with chilli, garlic and sesame oil and harissa aubergine steak served with saffron and almond couscous, grilled baby gem and tahini dressing.

There’s new crisp calamari coated with fajita salt with guacamole, toasted sweetcorn and tomato salsa, and the flat iron steak sandwich with whipped garlic goats cheese and rotisserie gravy.

Inspired by fresh herb gardens is a sharing camembert baked in garlic and rosemary sourdough with braeburn apple and smoky apple ketchup.

Or there’s baked kale crisps with apple cider vinegar.

Desserts include bitter chocolate and roasted pineapple pot with raspberry sorbet.
