How a supermarket chain is helping a Michelin-star restaurant through the coronavirus crisis

More than 30 staff at Solihull’s Michelin-starred Hampton Manor and Peel’s Restaurant have been been offered temporary jobs by a loyal client.

The 45-acre foodie estate was facing drastic measures to cope with the current coronavirus crisis.

The business had already got creative by opening three new ventures to keep their cooks cooking and to bring Michelin star magic to customers.

There’s a delivery service, drive-thru and pop-up shop.

But despite these efforts, more than 30 people faced being laid off before Aldi – a whose senior management are regular visitors at the hotel and restaurant – offered contracts to all the threatened employees.

Aldi faces unprecedented demand in their supermarkets and Hampton Manor’s team will now bring their magic customer service to stacking the supermarket shelves and keeping the store pristine.

In response, the Manor’s remaining team have committed to getting a free meal to vulnerable people in isolation for every meal they sell through their new home delivery, drive-thru and pop up bakery and wine shop.
