Birmingham’s award-winning Thai restaurant and bar Zen Metro has added another trophy to its cabinet.
It’s been named Best Thai Restaurant in Birmingham for 2018 in the Lux Hospitality Awards.
Director Jai George said: “This has been a truly remarkable year for Zen Metro.
“Not only were we crowned Best Oriental Restaurant in the Midlands at the Midlands Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards in the summer, we also won the TMP Award for Best Restaurant in the Midlands.
“We would like to thank all those who have supported us and we really do appreciate the encouragement of our growing band of regular customers who love what we do.”
When Brandasia, run by well-known Birmingham entrepreneurs Paul Bassi and Pawan Kenth, acquired Metro Bar & Restaurant in 2015, they said they were determined to put the iconic business back on the map.
As the Metro Bar, it had pioneered sophisticated dining and drinking for the business crowd in the Colmore area.
They brought in former Asha’s Restaurant general manager Jaimon George as a director and relaunched the venue as Zen Metro in January 2016.
Since then, Zen Metro has gone from strength to strength, winning awards for its food and service and acclaim from its customers for its high standards.
